William (Bill) Joseph Sidesky went home peacefully to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, surrounded by family at home. Bill was born on May 7, 1936 in Racine WI to Jeanette W (nee Rooney) and Joseph J Sidesky. He graduated from St. John Cathedral High School in Milwaukee. On September 15, 1956 he married his high school sweetheart Nancy Teresa Mark. Together they shared a life of love and laughter with their four daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. Bill loved golfing with Nancy and their friends, traveling with family, and watching sports on tv. He was a man of quiet faith, and was known for his quick, Irish wit and engaging sense of humor. His sons in law knew there was always a cold beer waiting for them and the grandchildren were showered with ice cream shakes and treats upon their arrival. He was the ultimate “Girl Dad”, cheering on his daughters in every endeavor. He bravely endured many band and choir concerts, musical performances and was an enthusiastic fan at a variety of sporting events for his daughters and grandchildren. He had a warm heart and always treated others with kindness. Bill was a grill master. He was known for large scale cookouts for Rotary, his nursing home and the senior living communities he managed later in his career.
Bill spent his early years working in real estate and construction until he found his calling in caring for the elderly by serving as a nursing home administrator for 25 years, and finishing out his career as a regional manager for senior living projects. He served as President of the Columbus Rotary Club, President of the Columbus Country Club, President of Wisconsin Association of Nursing Home Administrators District 3, and the first Board of Directors of the Columbus Senior Center.
Bill leaves behind many loving family and friends including his daughters Beth (Cal) Tobison, Julie (Dan) Garton, Katey, and Trish (Dave) Lange; his seven grandchildren - Stephanie Tobison (fiancé Cal Hofmeister), Nicole Vidrine (Landon); Ben, Andrea (Eden) and Claire Garton; and Lauren and Mitchell Lange; two sisters-in-law, Ann (Mark) Stefaniak and Betty (Dzidra) Sidesky; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy of 62 years; his parents; his sister Isabel (Jack) Devine and his brother George Sidesky; father-in-law Peter Mark and mother-in-law Teresa (Flannick) Mark; his brothers-in-law Peter (MaryAnn) Mark, Jack (Kay) Mark, George (Pat) Mark, Joe (Joan) Mark and Gene Stefaniak.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, with visitation at 10:30am and Mass at 12:00pm at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, W359 N8512 Brown St, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
