William "Bill" Fleischman

Born on June 20th, 1933 to the late Joseph and Hattie Fleischman in North Lake, WI, William (Bill) was the youngest of their five children. He graduated from Hartland High School in 1951 and then served as a Heavy Construction Carpenter for the US Army in the Korean war. After returning to the United States, he attended UW-Platteville.

After college he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Owley. Together they raised their five children, many beagles, got his Masters Degree, built their forever home and stayed devoted members of St. Anthony's on the Lake Parish.

Bill taught industrial education for decades, and spent the majority of those years at Brookfield East High School. It was there that he met some of his very best and lifelong friends. After retiring from teaching, he started his own company and spent the next few decades building and remodeling beautiful homes.

In his free time, Bill loved fishing, duck hunting, gardening and tinkering around the house. He attended every possible concert, recital, race, sporting and cheerleading event he could for all of his twelve grandchildren. He was known for his sense of humor, strong work ethic, love for God and dedication to family.

He is survived by his children: Susan (Peter) Groehler, Jill (Bruce) Blazek, Carole (Stephen) Collins, Bill Fleischman, and Amy (Mark) Thome. His grandchildren: Peter (Liz) Groehler, Matthew Groehler, Luke (Lauren) Groehler, James Groehler, Scott (Blair) Blazek, Adam (Samantha) Blazek, Bryan (Marie) Blazek, Chloe Collins, Callie (Justin) Collins, Kyle Thome and Jenna Thome. His great-grandchildren: Emma and Lily Blazek, and Baby Collins. His brother-in-law Ed Miklavcic and sister-in-law Sally Good. He was a beloved uncle and cousin to many more.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and his dear grandson, John Paul Groehler. He looked forward to reuniting with them as well as his four siblings: Lois Miklavcic, Joseph Fleischman, Aileen Pfeiffer, and Monica Frey.

The family would like to thank Agrace Hospice, the Veterans’ Association and Home Helpers of Lake Country for all of their help and support over the past few months.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Bill will be on Monday, July 14, 2025, at St. Anthony's on the Lake in Pewaukee. Visitation for family and friends will start at 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM.
