Warren (Richard) Mutsch, age 62, of Oconomowoc, WI found peace on January 9, 2026 after a long courageous battle with DIPG (brainstem cancer) which he approached with grace, humor, and inspiring positivity for over 11 years. Warren was born in Milwaukee, WI on January 28, 1963. Warren attended Greenfield High School, Class of 1981, where he excelled on the pitchers mound as well as in music with his saxophone. He continued his education at MATC and UW-Milwaukee where he studied computer science, pursuing a career of people-focused leadership and management in Information Technology including working at GTR, Norstan, TDS, and Anthem/BCBS throughout his 30 year career.
He met Joanie in 1985 and will tell everyone that is when his life began. The best friends were married on July 23, 1988 and enjoyed time outdoors in nature, listening to live music, and cherished being together. They were later joined by a son and daughter and his family continued to be the center of his world. He shared his love of music, nature, and animals with them. Warren enjoyed seeing life through the eyes of his children as they experienced new things for the first time and was grateful to be in this life long enough to see them each reach milestones in their own lives.
In both his personal and professional lives, Warren treated his colleagues as friends, friends as family, and his family as the most important thing in the world. He had a respect for all and a passion for service rooted in a deep personal relationship with God. Warren’s selfless nature could best be reflected in three simple words: “As You Wish.”
Beloved husband of Joan (Schneider) Mutsch, and devoted father of Spencer and Emilie Mutsch. Caring brother of Janet (Jeffrey) Jenrich, Eric (Terry) Mutsch, and the late James (Diane) Mutsch. Also survived by his chosen family (by marriage), godson, nephews, nieces, and many other relatives and friends.
