Terrence Roger Johnson

Terrence Roger Johnson, age 92, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and service. Born on March 8, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska, Terrence enjoyed a childhood on farms in Wisconsin, where he developed a deep appreciation for nature and adventure. A proud graduate of Waukesha High School, Terrence enlisted in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957, where he served as a skilled jet mechanic. Following his military service, he pursued his passion for engineering, earning an Associate's Degree from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and establishing a distinguished career as a mechanical engineer and project manager with First Wisconsin Development Corporation in the construction industry as a First Vice President.

Throughout his life, Terrence embraced his passions, including horseback riding, hunting, snowmobiling, and golf; often spending cherished moments with family and friends in nature. He enjoyed remodeling and renovating projects, bringing his creative visions to life. His love for the outdoors continued well into his 80s, as he delighted in lake living and other outdoor activities. He enriched the lives of those around him by participating in organizations such as the Oconomowoc Kiwanis, VFW, Loyal Order of Moose, Elks, and American Legion, which reflected his commitment to community and camaraderie.

Terrence is survived by his beloved daughter, Cindy (V. Gregory) Hauk, and an adoring family that includes grandchildren V. Brian (Sally) Hauk and T. Bradley (Stephanie) Hauk, and great-grandchildren Van and Xander Hauk (children of V. Brian and Sally) and Gavin and Emery Hauk (children of T. Bradley and Stephanie). He also leaves behind stepchildren Randy (Colleen) Larson and Lori (Randy) Sengbusch, along with step-grandchildren Courtney Larson, Ashley Larson, and Jessica (Ben) Waldron, and step-great grandchildren Cormac and Pieta Waldron (children of Jessica and Ben).

Preceded in death by his loving parents, Lee and Marjorie Johnson, his brother Jack, and beloved wives, Gail (nee Belott) Johnson and M. Maxine (nee Hepp) Johnson, as well as step-son Rick Larson. Terrence’s memory will live on through the many family and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and spirit.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Terrence’s name to VFW Post #7647, 30036 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and their hospice for such compassionate care.

A celebration of Terrence’s life will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (2228 N. Silver Maple Ln, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) on September 5, 2026. Visitation will take place from 2:00pm-3:00pm with a service to follow at 3:00pm.

While we mourn the loss of Terrence, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived filled with love, adventure, and service. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his warm spirit and unwavering strength.
