Robert Adolf Kretschmer

Robert Adolf Kretschmer was born on November 8, 1954, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He passed away peacefully at AnglesGrace Hospice, with family and friends by his side, on April 13, 2025.

Bob, as most people knew him, graduated from Arrowhead High School in 1973. He then joined and spent four years in the Marines where he ranked as a Sargent when he was honorably discharged. He married Debbie (Klug) on June 30, 1979, his beloved wife of 45 years. He worked as an Operating Engineer doing a variety of jobs including the deep tunnel project in Milwaukee. Bob was a very hardworking man, if he had a motto, it would be, “All in a day.” When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren play baseball.

Bob is survived by his “number ones” as he would say, his beloved wife Debbie, his daughters Nicole (Tony) Metzger, and Sarah (Paul) Waskow. Proud grandfather of Jaylynn Metzger, Keaton Waskow, Colton Waskow, and Jax Metzger. He is also survived by several other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Kurt and Paula Kretschmer, in laws Leroy and Arleen Klug, brother Alfred Kretschmer, nephew Kurt Kretschmer, brother in laws Lee Klug and Ken Euting, dear friend Gordy Bock, and his fur Baby Bitsy.

If you were fortunate to know Bob, he would talk with everyone, do anything for anyone, and was an all-around great man who will be missed dearly and never forgotten.

Following the request of Bob, there will be no service. If you would like to make a donation in Bob’s memory, please make them to AngelsGrace Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
