Ralph Mathias Foltz age 94 passed away peacefully at Angels Grace on July 11, 2025. He was born April 21, 1931 to Phillip and Tharsilla Foltz.
Ralph was born and raised in Dousman Wisconsin. He grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Oconomowoc high school and from there he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was first stationed in California, continuing onto Korea, serving for four years. He completed his services and was then discharged in Japan in 1954.
He came home and entered the field of carpentry. Working for various companies and eventually opening his own business, Ralph M Foltz Builders. He continued on building houses in the community for over 50 years.
Ralph had a mischievous sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting early on. He loved making firewood, snowmobiling in northern WI, attending Offroad races in WI and abroad, and Nascar racing. He also was a big Green Bay Packer fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed making anything he could out of wood, and always liked to watch professional wrestling whenever he could.
He married Janet Pateman on September 14, 1957 together they raised five children in their home in Dousman.
Ralph is survived by his wife Janet. His brother Jerome (Bert) Foltz, and his children, Mark Foltz, Matt (Sheri) Foltz, Marlo (Claudia) Foltz, Marsha (Dave) Ponczkowski and Marty Foltz. He is further survived by his grandchildren Joseph, Chris and Brandon Ponczkowski, Ian (Kelly) Foltz, Adam (Carlee) Foltz, Taylor (Eric) Poser, Jeremy (Hannah) Foltz, Alexine (Peter) DePrey, Cody Pace, Molly (Cisco) Zamora. Also, great grandchildren Eli and Radley Foltz, Payton and Dallas DePrey, Olivia and Isabel Zamora. Ralph is further survived by other dear family and friends.
A special thank you to all the amazing family and friends who showed their love and support over the years. Services will be held at St. Bruno’s Church (226 W. Ottawa Ave, Dousman, WI 53118) on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass. A private family burial will take place afterward.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Bruno’s Parish, Angels Grace Hospice (Oconomowoc), or Heartofthenation.org in Ralph’s name are welcome.
