Paul Matthew Brunner

Schieße, Paul Brunner Sr., at a youthful 65 years of age reached his final travel destination on Monday, August 17, 2026. Paul was born in Wisconsin on March 6,1961 to Thomas and Marie Brunner.

Survived by his loving wife, the ying to his yang of 26 years, Donna Brunner and their adored children, Kimberly (Alena) Holder, Paul (Kristin) Brunner Jr., Patricia “Trisha” (Matthew) Dummer, Devan O’Neill, Sean O’Neill, Colleen O’Neill-Roos, Traci (Robert) Paddock, and Max Brunner. His many rambunctious grandchildren: Josh, Alyssa, Matthew, Raylan, Jaxon, Odin, Bella, Elliott, Evelyn, Neila, Blaize, Broly, Rylee, Lillian, Scarlett, Phoebe, Mio, Kaia, and his great granddaughter Willow. Sisters Carolyn (Bob) Feuerstahler and Katherine (Brian) Holsclaw, and brother William Brunner, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Thomas Wichman, sister-in-law Cherie Schroeder, and grandson Andrew Letner.

Paul loved travelling, especially when he could share the adventure with his family. Germany was his favorite destination along with any place with a beach. He enjoyed exploring nature and parks with his rescue dogs, Oscar and Oliver, as well as making ice cream runs with a partner in crime. Paul was a lover of spicy foods, particularly Real Chili and anything with Tabasco Sauce. It wouldn’t be spicy enough if he wasn't sweating. He was also an enthusiastic lifelong learner of history and languages. He took classes in German and Spanish and turned to Duolingo for anything else, a global communicator for sure. Paul also had a true passion for Christmas and all that entailed, from playing Santa while presents were opened, to visiting Christmas Markets around the world, where he undoubtedly would acquire another reusable bag for his vast collection.

Paul was a larger-than-life personality who brought energy, curiosity, laughter, and love wherever he went. His adventures, his traditions, his stories, and his unmistakable spirit touched so many lives. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Jefferson Methodist Hospital, Gift of Life Donor Program and Pagenkopf for their support and compassion during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a humane society of your choice in Paul’s name are welcome.

A visitation will take place on September 4, 2026 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066 from 10:00am - 11:00am, followed by a celebration of Paul’s amazing life.
