As Winnie the Pooh said, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Patricia “Patty” Pease. Although we will feel her absence every minute of every day, we find comfort in knowing that when our Lord welcomed her into heaven, she was reunited with her sons, Jimmy and Jason; her parents, John and Mary Townsend; and her beloved pup, Bentley. There are not enough words to fully describe the amazing woman Patty was or the impact she had on the lives of so many. She lived a selfless life and always put the needs of others before her own, whether it was someone she had just met or someone she had loved for a lifetime. Her love was fierce and unconditional, and it knew no boundaries. It was the foundation our family was built upon, and because of the values she instilled in us, that foundation will remain strong even in her absence. As we navigate the uncharted waters of this unimaginable loss, we draw strength from the countless wonderful memories we have of her. There was nothing Patty cherished more than spending time with her family. Drop-by visits and family dinners almost always began with gifts—or as she referred to them “prizes.” She also never forgot golden dollars for her great-granddaughters, a tradition she began when her first great-granddaughter was born. Holidays were always Patty’s favorite times of the year. She loved celebrating with family and honoring the traditions that meant so much to her. Although she loved every holiday, Christmas held a special place in her heart. She and Rick would spend hours decorating the tree with her favorite Hallmark ornaments, many of which represented special family milestones, and each one was strategically placed in just the right spot. Once the tree was up, the gift wrapping and stuffing of the four-foot-tall stockings began. Each was filled with treasures she handpicked throughout the year, many from her favorite Amish stores up north. Nothing brought Patty more joy than seeing the happiness her gifts brought to everyone she loved. Another tradition she treasured was the annual family trip to Hayward. She loved the quality time spent relaxing, enjoying each other’s company, and watching her great-granddaughters play. But her favorite part of the day was gathering around the table for games of Yahtzee filled with jokes and laughter. We will forever cherish the memories made on these vacations. Patty also loved the casino. The slot machines were her favorite, and most times you could find Rick nearby watching her play. It was a love she shared with her sister and best friend, Mary, and she was always grateful for the time they spent together. Over the years, she also made wonderful memories with other family and friends, so even when the slots weren’t hitting, Patty still left feeling like a winner. Patty leaves behind a family who truly adored her: her beloved husband of 56 years and the love of her life, Richard Pease; her daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Craig Kleinschmidt; her son, Michael Pease; her grandchildren, Nathen McMickle (Leah Turner), Brenna Kleinschmidt, and Logan Kleinschmidt; her great-granddaughters, Avery and Eloise; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jack Froemming; her nieces and nephews, Kim Wilson (Kevin) and Tracey Anders (Mike); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaile Anders, Jenna Anders, Evan Anders, and Paige Wilson; and her great-great-nephew, Kaizin. She also leaves behind her beloved dog and favorite couch companion, Dexter. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at ProHealth Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. Their extraordinary care and compassion carried our family through some of the most difficult days of our lives, and we will forever be grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patty’s honor to St. Jerome Parish or to the family, to be donated to an organization that will be chosen at a later date. A private funeral service was held with family and close friends.
