Nancy Jean Wolter went to be with God on October 24, 2026. She was born on February 17, 1944, to Alvin and Orvilla Wolter in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
Nancy was a faithful lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc, where she was baptized, confirmed, and attended services throughout her life. She worked at Quick Cleaners and Greenland Elementary School before spending many years caring for her great-nieces.
Nancy found happiness in the simple things in life. She loved riding her bike around town, attending church services, shopping for a good bargain, and keeping up with the latest news and neighborhood happenings. She enjoyed drinking Pepsi, an occasional beer and watching Hallmark movies. She especially cherished sharing life’s everyday moments with her best friend and sister, LouAnn.
One of Nancy’s greatest joys was caring for her great-nieces when they were young. She loved making them happy and was known for sneaking their favorite treats into her bag for them to enjoy. She took delight in the little things that brought them joy and showed her love through these thoughtful gestures. Her love for her family and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures made her special to those who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her siblings, Darlene (Cliff) King, Judy Mueller, LouAnn Wolter, and Sally (Dick) Heinen. She is also survived by her nephew, Michael King, and her nieces, Kim Kohler, Lisa Manthe, Christine Racette, Tracy Bierman, Bonny Wolter and Wendy Sallam.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Orvilla Wolter; her siblings, Delaine Cibik, Sonny Wolter, Al Wolter, and Jerry Wolter; her siblings-in-law, Ernie Cibik, Sue Wolter, and Bert Mueller; and her niece, Jennifer Lemke.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to The View at Pine Ridge for the loving care and kindness shown to Nancy.
A visitation will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home in Oconomowoc at 10:00am on Friday, October 30th, followed by a service at 11:00am. Nancy will be taken to her final resting place at Glenview Memorial Gardens following the service. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
