Mildred Gertrude McRae

Mildred G. McRae was called to Heaven on February 28 at the age of 97. She passed away peacefully at Shorehaven in Oconomowoc, WI. The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care she received during her 16 months of residency there.

Millie grew up in West Allis, WI, and graduated from Pius High School. Shortly after, she met and married Colin McRae. Together, they had two children, Coleen and Patrick.

She worked until she was 75 years old at Henry G. Meigs Inc. Throughout her life, Millie took great pride in her many passions, including her love for God and her faith, her family, travel, golf, sewing, knitting, reading, gardening, music, dancing, theater, baseball, the beach, Christmas, playing cards, shopping, and spending quality time with her family. Millie was very social and embraced every opportunity to engage in the activities she enjoyed.

She is survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held later this year when her cremains will be divided between the property where Patrick and Marylee reside, a place where she cherished many Sundays and holidays for years. She also requested that some of her remains be taken to the beach in Sarasota, where she spent the last 12 winters with Coleen and John.

Millie was loved by many and will be greatly missed. However, we find comfort in knowing she lived life to the fullest and did it all HER WAY
