Michael A. Smith

Michael A. Smith, of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia A. Smith; his parents, Ralph and Shirley Smith; and his brother, Bob Smith.

Michael and Patricia were married on August 30, 1969, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, family, and devotion. Their bond remained a guiding force for their children long after Patricia’s passing.

Michael spent most of his career as a dedicated truck driver for Roundy’s, where he was known for his reliability, hard work, and easy friendship. Over the years, he became a trusted friend and “uncle” to many, always ready with a story, a laugh, or a helping hand.

He is survived by his three children, who were the pride of his life:

• Michelle A. Zache (Smith) and her husband Wayne Zache, and their children Tyler (Peyton), Taylor (Chris), Alex (Dillon) and Ashley

• Patrick A. Smith and his wife Sandra Smith, and their children Samantha and Jonathan

• Shaun M. Smith, and his children Cooper and Kendall

He is also survived by his sister, Sue Tucker, who shared a lifelong bond with him.

For the past 21 years, following the loss of their mother, Michael was deeply loved and cared for by his children. Their devotion and presence were constants in his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them and his grandchildren.

A funeral service honoring Michael’s life will be held at Glenview Memorial Gardens (W1219 Glenview Ave, Ixonia, WI 53036) on October 2.

Michael will be remembered for his devotion to family, his steady presence, and the love he carried for those closest to him.
