It is with saddened hearts that the family of Mary E. Schulte, announces her peaceful passing on March 17, 2026 at age 85 in her home amongst loved ones. She was born on July 13, 1940 to William and Margaret McDonough and was a lifelong resident of Oconomowoc.
Mary attended St. Jerome Parish School and was a graduate of Oconomowoc High School and for many years worked at Rasmussen’s Pharmacy in downtown Oconomowoc starting part-time after school. Her friendly face was a warm welcome to so many community members during those years. On May 12, 1962, she married Harold (Bud) Schulte, also of Oconomowoc. They were life-long sweethearts for nearly 64 years.
Mary and Bud enjoyed years of travel, while creating many memories. Mary loved working on crafts of many types and was a very talented artisan. Stamping, Rosemaling, and Card Making were some of her favorites. Receiving a hand-made card from Mary was truly a treasure that warmed the heart! Spending time talking with her family and friends and maintaining lifelong relationships was Mary’s passion. She had a special talent to make everyone feel welcome and loved. She was beautiful inside and out. Her smile and her gentle affection will be missed by us all.
Mary is survived by her husband Harold (Bud) Schulte, two brothers, William and Michael, her sister, Kathleen (John) Silvestri, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Patricia and James Schulte; along with nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Margaret McDonough, Mother and Father In-law Fred and Cecelia Schulte, sister-in-law Margaret McDonough, brother-in-law Donald Schulte and sister-in-law Bernice Schulte Borchert.
If desired, memorials to a charity of your choice in Mary’s name will be very much appreciated.
Visitation and Funeral Services will take place on April 24, 2026 at St. Jerome Catholic Church (995 S. Silver Lake Street, Oconomowoc) from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., followed by Mass and a brief reception.
