Mary Margaret Fahl (Bloomingdale), 92, of Oconomowoc, WI, passed away on October 15, 2026.
Mary was born in Milwaukee, September 18, 1934, to Isabel and Floyd Bloomingdale. She lived most of her adult life in the Oconomowoc/Delafield area where she met her husband and they raised their daughter.
Mary is survived by her one child, Jennifer Mary Fahl. Also of Oconomowoc.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years at the time of his death, Gerald (Jerry/Joe) Fremont Fahl.
Mary treasured her true friendships, and the relationships that endured over her 92 years.
Mary loved feeding and identifying birds, decorating her home with pretty things, collecting antiques, and poetry. She painted, she was always singing, and was a natural story teller recounting her childhood experiences. And she loved to write.
Mary was deeply faithful. She converted to Catholicism when she was a young adult, and nurtured that faith throughout her lifetime.
She had a rich life of volunteer work, starting with St Bruno’s Church in Dousman, teaching CCD classes for 17 years.
Mary discovered the Apostolic Movement of Schoenstatt and was involved for over 40 years. She deeply involved herself with the Penny Power fund raising campaign to help the children and people of the Dominican Republic. She formed tight bonds with fellow members and many Sisters of Schoenstatt. She had a dedicated and blessed Schoenstatt shrine in her home. She truly lived in the Spirit.
Her daughter wishes to thank all the caregivers who were directly involved with Mary’s care. Pro Health’s therapy team, the in-home caregivers, the hospital teams, the ER teams and the ICU team, Lake Country Health Services, the Northshore Hospice team. And the EMTs who visited Mary’s home and treated her with the utmost respect every time.
In lieu of flowers, a donation made in Mary’s name is preferred, to the charity of your choosing.
