August 18, 1921, May 5, 2026, at the age of 104 years.
Margaret Elizabeth (Schreiber) Fulmer was born the daughter of Elmer and Marion Schreiber in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 18, 1921.
Margaret graduated from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee. At the age of 21, during the Second World War. Margaret served as an ammunition inspector. Margaret married John Richard Fulmer in 1944. They had three children together. When John passed away in 1957, Margaret was left with the responsibility of supporting their three children alone. Margaret worked two jobs and made many sacrifices for her family.
Margaret at one time worked as a telephone switchboard operator. She retired from the position of secretary at the Mental Health Division with Waukesha County after 30 years of service. Margaret spent her life working and enjoyed volunteering to serve others.
Margaret was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary post 91 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She served as Auxiliary President, Secretary and Treasurer. She was elected to and served as Vice Chairman and then chairman at the state level. Margaret enjoyed serving as a counselor at Badger Girls State for 30 years. She looked forward to making the trip to Madison each summer to meet and work with the girls. Margaret was an active member of the Eastern Star. She also served as a council member with Job's daughters for many years. She loved bowling and her passion was quilting.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Marion Schreiber. Her husband John Fulmer. Her brothers, Bill and John Schreiber and sister Dorothy Luciani and a Great Grandson Jacob Butschke.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Harold) Butschke, Marion (Jim) Weber and son Herbert Fulmer. Margaret is further survived by her Grandchildren, Carrie Mueller, John Butschke, Margaret Clark, Christopher Butschke, Johanna Butschke, John Weber, Brenda Graybill and Heidi Feterl. Great Grandchildren: Jessi Reidy, Madline Butschke, Courtney Mueller, Joshua Mueller, Logan Mueller, Ethan Mueller, Brett Lopez, Cole Butschke, Madison Graybill, Lauren Graybill, Trevor Feterl, Lawson Feterl, Maitlyn Feterl, Nathan Kaltenberg, Christopher Kaltenberg and Zoe Kaltenberg. Great-Great-grandchild Eli Lopez.
A service for Margaret will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (2228 N. Silver Maple Ln, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with visitation at 10:00am until time of service at 12:00pm. A graveside service will be held for the family at St. Jerome's Cemetery.
