Lucile A. Thies

Lucile A. Thies 'Lu' (nee Peterson), 92 of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2014. Lu is survived by her children Thomas (Marianne) Thies, Katherine (Gary) Weitekamp and Jane (Thomas) Devine. Cherished grandma of 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lu is preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry L. Thies along with her brothers Bob, Fred, Dan, Ned, sisters Ruth and Bernice. Lu was the consummate wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, calligraphy, the arts and traveling with Harry in their free time. Her love for her family is her legacy. A celebration of Lu's life will be held at Zion Episcopal Church in Oconomowoc on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 3:00 PM. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 PM until the time of the service, all to be held at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Zion Episcopal Church Memorial Fund or to the Lutheran Homes of Oconomowoc.
