It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Mae Baumann (nee Bark), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who departed this life peacefully on February 27, 2026, at the age of 91. Lois was born on September 15, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to George and Mabel Bark.
Lois and her loving husband, Wilbur Baumann, celebrated an incredible 69 years of marriage, a testament to their profound love and companionship. Together, they cultivated a life rich with shared experiences and cherished memories, including Wisconsin summers at their home in Door County, and later, under the warm Florida sun at their home in Longboat Key.
When she wasn’t enjoying sun-drenched days by the pool in Florida, Lois made her mark at home in Brookfield, Wisconsin. A gifted hairdresser, she touched the lives of many with her exceptional skills and kind spirit. Her artistry extended beyond her craft, as she cherished teaching her great granddaughters the art of nails, guiding them with patience & love. Her talents also popped up in the kitchen, gathering family and friends around the table for memorable meals, and at both the Chenequa and Westmoor Country Clubs, keeping up active social golf and tennis schedules.
Lois grew up in a cottage at Silver Lake in Wautoma, where the beauty of nature instilled in her a lifelong appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She found joy in watching hummingbirds’ flit about her garden and dedicated weekends to cheering on the Badgers, enjoying tailgate parties filled with camaraderie and spirit.
In addition to her beloved husband, Lois is survived by her children, Cyndee Morse and John Baumann; Grandchildren Tyler (Katrina) Morse and Nicole (Jason) Heard; Great Grandchildren Gavin Heard, Griffin Heard, Hudson Heard, Hendrix Heard, Harper Morse, and Kinsley Morse; and her sister Nancy (Nathan) Kittleson. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mabel Bark, as well as her brother George (Carol) Bark.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Towner Crest Memory Care and Legacy Hospice for their care and support for Lois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Zachariah’s Acres and St. John’s Lutheran Stone Bank Cemetery Association in Lois’ name are welcome.
A celebration of Lois’ life will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Chenequa County Club (6250 WI-83, Hartland, WI 53029) starting at 12:00pm. Guests are encouraged to wear Lois’ favorite color—blue—as a tribute to her vibrant personality. Lois will be laid to rest at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Stone Bank, Wisconsin.
