Linda Ann Heistad

Linda Ann Heistad, age 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, on December 24, 2025. Born on June 13, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of Charles and Margaret Newton. Linda grew up in Beloit, Wisconsin, where she developed a passion for caring for others that would eventually guide her to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse.

Linda poured love into every stitch of her quilts, every hem of her sewing projects, and with every book she read, she enriched her life and those around her. Linda had a spirit of adventure, exploring new places and creating cherished memories with family. Her true joy, however, was found within the loving embrace of her family. She was a devoted homemaker whose life revolved around creating a nurturing and warm environment for her family.

Linda is survived by her children Rachel (Robert) Mundschau, Andrew (Kerry) Heistad and Matthew (Victoria) Heistad; grandchildren Lucy, Vivian, Margaret Mundschau, Ashlyn and Abigail Heistad and Emery Heistad; sisters Barbara (Warren) Tinkham, Carol (William) Hughes, Vicky Hargis, Donna (Rick) Wood and Pat (Mark) Kernien; along with nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband John; her parents and brothers Bob and Paul Newton.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Angela Belan, Linda's primary caregiver, for her unwavering support and compassion. Her dedication and love allowed Linda to feel comforted and cherished.

A celebration of Linda’s life will take place at St. Jerome Catholic Church (995 S. Silver Lake Street, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 with a visitation from 10:00am-11:00am followed by a Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jerome Catholic Church in Linda’s name are welcome.
