La Baron "Barry" Claire Crouse

La Baron "Barry" Claire Crouse, a devoted family man and esteemed law enforcement officer, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on March 8, 1927, in Beloit, Wisconsin, La Baron lived a life steeped in dedication, service, and unwavering love for his family.

From his early years in Waukesha to his later life in Concord, Wisconsin, Barry embodied the values of hard work and commitment. He forged a remarkable career in law enforcement, proudly serving as a police officer and as an accident investigator for the Waukesha Police Department. His work exemplified his sense of justice and his deep commitment to his community.

Barry is survived by his beloved wife, Ardyce Crouse, whose partnership spanned 71 years. Together, they raised three sons-Rick (Stephanie), Randy, and Kevin (Ruth)-and a daughter, Christine (John) Nesbitt. He cherished the bonds with his grandchildren: Caitlin, John (Kayla), Joe, Jesse, Clinton, Trevor (Hiromi), Kyle (Sandra), Sara (Joel), Brita (Ezra), Ben, Amalia, Viktor, and Robert, and reveled in the joy of his great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Eleanor, Noa, Luca, and Cheyenne, along with Pumpkin, his beloved cat. Barry is also survived by his dear sister, Bonnie Giese and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, highlighting the importance of family that he carried through every aspect of his life.

Funeral services to honor Barry's remarkable life and legacy will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be at 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. A burial will follow at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested in Barry's honor to the Waukesha Police Department K9 unit or to any Humane Society of your choice.

 Barry was preceded in death by his parents: Nelda and George Crouse; brothers Earl (Bernita) Crouse, Elmer Crouse, Glenn (Gwendolyn) Crouse, Donald (Adeline) Crouse, Darwin (Faye) Crouse, Gerald (Marlene) Crouse and brother-in-law Gordon Giese.
