Karen Elizabeth Howard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Elizabeth Howard, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on May 8, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on December 30, 1959, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Karen lived a life rich in love, compassion, and purpose.

Karen’s career as a Nurse Practitioner in the field of women's health was a testament to her dedication to helping others. Her nurturing spirit and vast knowledge impacted countless lives, and she approached each day with warmth and a genuine smile. She was especially proud of her role in bringing hundreds of lives into this world, including some of her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John Howard, and their four wonderful children: Katy (Nick) Hall, Jack (Nochka) Howard, Ellie (Zach) Ebben, and Joseph Howard, each of whom carries forward her legacy of kindness and strength. Karen was especially proud of her grandsons, Jennings Ebben and Ronan Hall, who brought her immeasurable joy.

Karen was a cherished sister to her siblings: Don (Mary Jo) Hoadley, Diane Gray, Doug (Brenda) Hoadley, David (Peggy) Hoadley, Kevin (Linda) Hoadley, and Mary Kay (Joe) Tixier. Together, they shared countless happy memories that will live on forever through the stories we share.

A celebration of Karen’s remarkable life will be held May 23rd, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, with a visitation for family and friends starting at 3:00 until time of service where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the tremendous impact she made on everyone she met. In the spirit of joy and love that defined her life, we encourage those who knew her to share their stories and celebrate the beautiful moments they shared together.

As we bid farewell to Karen, let us remember her not with sorrow but with gratitude for the love she shared and the lives she touched. Her legacy of strength, humor, and adventure will live on in the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched.

Karen was preceded in death by her beloved parents Donald and Kathryn Hoadley, her brother-in-law Brian Gray, and nephews Patrick Gray and Kyle Roth.
