Kaleb John Ryan De Vries

Kaleb John Ryan De Vries, age 42, passed away suddenly on April 24, 2026, from an unexpected and undiagnosed cardiac episode.

Kaleb was born on February 12, 1984, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, to Karla (Vande Kamp) Mueller and Jim De Vries. He took great joy in sharing a birthday with Abraham Lincoln and carried a deep love for his country throughout his life.

From a young age, Kaleb found happiness in the outdoors, beginning with collecting bugs as a child and growing into a lifelong love of fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time outside. He grew up playing sports, with hockey always being his favorite. Kaleb was known for his warm spirit and ability to make friends wherever he went. He loved gathering family and friends together, especially when hosting fish fries and cooking for those he loved. He loved making salsa using the ingredients from his garden and sharing with everyone. He loved watching the Brewers - going to the games and watching at home.

Kaleb was a gifted plumber who took pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend.

Kaleb shared a beautiful life with his wife, Hilary De Vries (née Ebert). Together they raised their two beloved sons, Jude, age 10, and Cash, age 7, who were the center of his world. He loved coaching their baseball and soccer teams and teaching them about fishing, hunting, gardening, music, and the beauty of the outdoors.

Faith was a guiding force in Kaleb’s life. He was unafraid to share his love for God with others and found great joy in serving through Crosspoint Community Church, where he generously gave his time to the church, community, and special events.

Kaleb is survived by his wife, Hilary; sons, Jude and Cash; his mother, Karla (Larry Mueller); his father, Jim (Linda De Vries); sisters, Raina (Eli) and Ashlyn; mother-in-law, Robin Ebert; brothers-and sisters-in-law Heather and Digger, Heidi and Jason, Hailey and Andrew, and Buddy and Jen; nieces and nephews Chas, Oliver, Thane, Pippy, Parker, Jaelyn, Jace, Kennedy, Finnley, Piper, Harper and Charlotte; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gordon and Shirley Vande Kamp, John and Annabelle De Vries; his cousin, Derek De Vries; and his father-in-law, Charles Ebert.

Kaleb will be remembered for his generous heart, unwavering faith, hardworking nature, love of family, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Those wishing to honor Kaleb’s memory may consider a donation to a trust fund for his beloved sons, Jude and Cash. Donations can be sent to W12575 Amity Road, Brandon, WI 53919. Please make donations payable to Jude and Cash De Vries.

A visitation will take place on May 3rd, 2026 at Crosspoint Community Church (W380N6931 N. Lake Road, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 2pm-5pm, followed by a service at 5pm. Please wear Brewers or hockey attire to the service in Kaleb’s honor. Lastly, there will be a dropbox at the service for those who wish to share a memory. These will be used to create a memory book for his boys.
