John George Rice Jr.

John George Rice Jr., born on July 18, 1943, in New Bedford, MA, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, at the age of 82, in Oconomowoc, WI.

John is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Astrida, his treasured nieces, Sandra Randall (Walter S/O) and Rebecca Ortega (Raymond), as well as his grand nephews and nieces; Zach, Alex, Quentin, Savannah, and Sophia. John is further survived by his other cherished family and friends, Sharon and Jerry Putnins and Laura Ritter and family.

John spent 30+ years at Briggs & Stratton. After retiring, he enjoyed volunteering at Three Pillars and singing in the Oconomowoc Community Choir. All of us who loved Johnny know how much he enjoyed his coffee, especially sitting out on the deck, enjoying nature. Please have a cup of coffee in his honor.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 15, 2026, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a service to follow. John will be laid to rest at La Belle Cemetery.
