John “Jack” Herbert Elliott, age 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on October 1, 2025. Jack was born in Highland Park, Michigan, on March 5, 1944, to Alexander and Edna Elliott.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Cathy; his children, Jacob (Marlee Frank-deceased), Josh (Tahnee), Beth, and Laura (Steve); and his beloved grandchildren, Austin, Shannon, Cate, Ellie, and Tahlulah. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy (Don) Rountree, as well as his cherished Canadian family. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Chuck Elliott. Jack is also survived by his former wife, Lynda Buric Elliott, with whom he raised Jacob and Josh.
Jack loved teaching and working with kids, and he found joy in reading, relaxing at the lake, and spending time with friends and family. He was an ardent, lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and carried deep affection for his years as principal at Rolling Meadows High School in Illinois.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Delavan at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, with a visitation beginning at 12:00pm at the church. Please join the family at the Lake Lawn Room at Lake Lawn Resort for a luncheon and celebration of life following the ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jack’s name may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
