Jerome “Jerry” Michael Bobb passed away peacefully in the loving care of his cherished wife, Vicki, on October 26, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born on June 16, 1947, to Gerald and Helen Bobb, Jerry was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, alongside his five brothers and sisters. As the second-born in a bustling household, responsibility came naturally to him. At just four years old, when his mother entrusted him with holding an umbrella over his sister on their walk to school, Jerry made sure she stayed dry the entire way, an early glimpse of the steadfast loyalty and care that defined his life.

Jerry attended Mother of Good Counsel Parish School, where his good character, thoughtfulness, and eagerness to do things right made him an early favorite among the nuns. A dedicated altar boy, he was also active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. His strong work ethic took root early, delivering The Milwaukee Journal to 80 customers with his father stepping in alongside him on snowy mornings.

As his family relocated, Jerry attended four different high schools. After moving from Milwaukee to Skokie, Illinois, he attended St. George and later Evanston Township High School. Returning to Wisconsin, he graduated from Brookfield East High School with the Class of 1966. He studied at Milwaukee Area Technical College for one year before transferring to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. During the Vietnam War era, Jerry answered the call to duty in the U.S. Army. Stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, he served with distinction as a drill sergeant, training recruits in marksmanship, firearms handling, and military discipline.

During his junior year of college, Jerry returned home to help with the family business, GMB Engineering Equipment, Inc. Over the decades, he wore nearly every hat in the company, including blueprinting, sales engineering, and serving as company president, guiding the business with integrity until retiring at the age of 56.

Jerry lived life in motion. An active outdoorsman, he loved waterskiing, downhill and cross-country skiing, jogging, hiking, biking, and inline skating. Indoors, he was just as smooth on his feet, enjoying ballroom and disco dancing. He was known for a top-notch sense of humor that could brighten any room and a warm smile that touched everyone he met.

At the center of Jerry’s world was his wife and soulmate, Vicki. They met on the disco dance floor at the Marriott Peat Bog Nightclub and began a love story that led to their marriage on August 4, 1979. Over 47 years together, they built a deeply devoted partnership. In retirement, they loved escaping the Midwest chill to spend sunny winters snowbirding in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Back home, Jerry pursued his passion for aviation with the Circle Masters Flying Club, spending countless happy hours building, tuning, and flying model airplanes with dear friends.

Of all his achievements, Jerry was proudest of being a loving, devoted husband and father. He truly embodied what it meant to "go in grace," facing his illness of MSA with steady strength, quiet dignity, and his trademark gentle humor. Nothing brought him greater joy than his family. Whenever his grandchildren wrapped their arms around him to say they loved him, Jerry would smile with pure gratitude and say, "What a wonderful feeling."

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his brothers, Craig and Jeffrey Bobb.

His memory lives on through his cherished wife, Vicki; his children, Renee (Andrew Schileve) and Kevin (Allison Cornman); and his adored grandchildren, Hendrix Schileve, Luke Bobb, and Layla Bobb. He is also lovingly remembered by his surviving sisters: Jeannette (Les) Schamens, Mary (Tom) Gottschalk, and Eileen (Mike) Stegman; sisters-in-law Betty Bobb and Sheri Bobb; and the nieces and nephews he absolutely adored, along with an extended circle of neighbors and lifelong friends touched by his kindness.

The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Brighton Hospice, At Your Service, AngelsGrace Hospice, and Aurora Summit, as well as to their supportive neighbors and friends during this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to organizations close to Jerry's heart: Homeless Vets, the Mission MSA (Multiple System Atrophy), Friends of Lapham Peak, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
