James Michele Griggs

James Michele Griggs, age 70, passed away on September 5, 2025 at Aurora Summit Hospital. Jim was born on April 29, 1955, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, the cherished son of Pink and Mary Griggs (nee Walker).

A true Wisconsin Badger at heart, Jim was known for his enthusiastic cheers and unwavering support for his team. He was often seen sporting Badger colors and rallying family and friends to join him in spirited celebrations during game days.

He was a man who genuinely loved his family and held deep connections with those around him. He found joy in conversations, whether with lifelong friends or new acquaintances, always demonstrating a warm and approachable nature that endeared him to many.

Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cindy; children James (Reza) and Niki Becher; grandchildren Kayla Becher, Elise Griggs, and Alli Becher; his mother Elizabeth; brother Joe Griggs; sister Kathy (Dave) Pasquill; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his father Pink; siblings Phil, Johnny, Mary Sue and Eddie.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Aurora Summit ICU for their compassionate care during Jim's final days, ensuring he felt comforted and supported.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Jim's name are welcome.

A visitation to honor Jim’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church (1650 Brown St Ste 3, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 10:00am-11:00am with a service to follow. Jim will be laid to rest following the service at the Gardens of StoneBank Cemetery.
