Jackie Myers saw her purpose in life as providing steadfast companionship and support for her husband and “roots and wings” for her children.
She died quietly with her husband and children at her side, on Monday, June 1, 2026. She was 76.
Jackie was diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) in 2021 and ultimately passed from pneumonia-like complications. PSP robbed her of speech, ambulation, dexterity and some of her memory, but it could not diminish her lifelong faith in God and her lasting love for her husband and family.
Born on August 4, 1949, she grew up in Rubicon and Hartford, Wisconsin. She moved to Milwaukee as a teen and graduated from Custer High School. She later received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Alverno College, Milwaukee, while in the process of raising pre-schoolers.
Jackie was working as an executive secretary for the president of Harley-Davidson Motor Company when she met Gary Myers, her soon-to-be husband. They married on April 18, 1973, and she left work to start a family a few years later. The family moved to Jefferson in 1982 to enable Gary to help launch a public relations firm, Morgan&Myers. The couple raised their children in Jefferson, then retired to the Town of Delafield in 2013. The couple became snowbirds in 2015, spending winters in Naples, Florida, and returning to Wisconsin in the summer.
Over the years, Jackie held marketing positions at Jones Dairy Farm, Ft. Atkinson. She was also real estate broker for several organizations until her retirement in 2015. She was proud that all her real estate earnings were set aside for her children’s college education.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gary, their daughter Sarah (Jason) Cleaver, Muskego WI, their son Philip (Kelly) Myers, Charlotte NC, and four granddaughters, Lacey and London Cleaver, and Miriam and Margaret Myers. Jackie is also remembered fondly by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, co-workers, neighbors and devoted friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Verna and Harold Becker, as well as her brothers, Gregory and Jeffery, and her sisters, Audrey and Susan (Dennis) Feucht.
Friends of her children found her home to be a welcoming place, with pizza and soft drinks always ready on short notice. She maintained a beautiful household with colorful potted plants in the summer and festive decorations during the holidays. She never missed a little league baseball game, a soccer match, a scout event or dance and gymnastic performances. She coached her children to be competitive card players at an early age.
Jackie was an astute conservative and patriotic observer of local, state and national affairs. She provided thoughtful counsel for Gary while he served two terms as mayor of the City of Jefferson. She was an active member of the Jefferson Rotary Club for several years.
Jackie rejoiced in the spring when birds, deer and turkeys began to appear in the woods behind her house. She and Gary spent many summers on their Harley Ultra Classic motorcycle, riding the scenic and curvy Wisconsin back roads with fellow enthusiasts. Together, the couple traveled extensively to US, European and Asian destinations; often with their kids. Being a Wisconsin native, Jackie was, of course, a loyal lifelong fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers.
Memorial services will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, Oconomowoc, (pagenkopf.com) on Friday, June 12, beginning with a visitation at 3:00 p.m., followed by the funeral at 5:00 p.m.
The family wishes to acknowledge Susan Rubenzer, RN, and Melissa Plotz, CNA, with gratitude for the loving in-home care they provided to Jackie in recent years. The family is also deeply grateful to the devoted nurses and staff in the skilled nursing unit at Shorehaven, Oconomowoc, where she received compassionate care during the last year of her life.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to memorialize Jackie’s life are encouraged to donate in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
