Jack Barney Jorgensen, age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 1, 2025. Jack was born on September 11, 1932, to Barney and Louise (nee Nehrbass) Jorgensen in Milwaukee, WI.
Jack led a life marked by service, honor, and commitment. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1991, during which time he cultivated lifelong friendships and demonstrated unwavering dedication to his country and fellow servicemen. His military career was paramount in shaping his character, instilling in him values of discipline, resilience, and loyalty.
Jack was a man of many hobbies and interests. He had a profound appreciation for the beauty of horses, which he proudly owned and cared for. He loved hunting with friends, relished watching a good western, and held a deep passion for aviation and all things Civil War.
Jack is survived by his son Jack Jr. (Laura), grandchildren Andrew (Jenn) and Jonathan; great-granddaughter Olivia; along with many other family and friends.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife Karen; daughter Joy; brother Kenneth and his parents.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Village at Manor Park in West Allis for their exceptional care and support during Jack's final days.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in Jack’s name are welcome.
A visitation to celebrate Jack’s life will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Faith Springs Presbyterian Church (N13W28771 Silvernail Rd, Pewaukee, WI 53072) from 12:00pm-2:00pm with a service to follow. Jack will be laid to rest following the service next to his wife, Karen, at Ottawa Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
