Henry A. Spiegelberg

June 18, 1928 — November 20, 2025

Henry A. Spiegelberg

Henry A. Spiegelberg entered eternal glory on November 20, 2025 at the age of 97. With great joy, he heard the words “well done good and faithful servant.” He always knew heaven was his home due to Jesus’ saving grace.

Cherished dad to James (Karen) Spiegelberg, Janet (Jeff) Gehlhar and Joanne (Bob) Sandvick. Loving Grandpa Bud to Marie (Erich) Seipel, Diana (Kyle) Kerr, Laura (Tim) O’Neill, Erica (Paul) Koester, Rachel (James) Humann, and Talia (Alex) Steinhauer. Even more thrilled to be Great-Grandpa Bud to Harry, William, Levi, George, Audrey, Teddy, Anna, Cece, and future baby O’Neill.

He is survived by sisters-in-law Barb and Jean along with many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wives Lyla and Mary; his siblings Irene, Bernie, Estelle, and Alice; and his brothers-in-law Carl, Marty, Bob, and sister-in-law Marietta.

Henry was born June 18, 1928. His early years were spent on the farm before locating to Milwaukee and eventually West Allis. He was a Korean War army veteran. In 1967, he started his own accounting firm. In 1994, Jim took over the firm, and Henry continued to work part time for him until he was 94. He loved his numbers, was known for his meticulous organized notes, famous file folders, and looked forward to his mail each day.

Our dad was an exemplary Christian role model. He had a huge servant heart, and his actions matched his words. He prioritized his values of faith, family, and friends. In humility and kindness, he served generously with his time, talents, and treasures. To keep things lively, he added his humor.

Henry lived each day to the fullest with his daily “to do” list that was still sitting on his desk at the time of his passing. For decades, he enjoyed the camaraderie of investment club, card club, singing in the church choir, church treasurer, church maintenance Mr. Fix-It, and family gatherings. He enjoyed taking family movies, taking pictures, and antique cars. He loved his ice cream and recently added gelato to the list.

He spent the last couple of years living at the Towner Crest retirement community. Being part of this community was a lifeline for him. The family wants to thank the entire staff team (from chef to receptionists) that made living at Towner Crest a joy for Henry. He enjoyed all of his interactions with the friends and acquaintances he met at Bible class, bingo, the puzzle table, sing-a-long, exercise class, and all other social activities. He so enjoyed the after-meal conversations with the “guys.”

He fondly ended his phone calls with “bye for now.” With broken hearts we say “bye for now,” and we look forward to our reunion with you in heaven.
