Glenn Galen Kees

Glenn Galen Kees, age 86, passed away with his family by his side on April 30, 2025. Glenn was born on July 30, 1938 in Long Beach, CA to parents Galen and Bertha (nee Severson) Kees.

Glenn served honorably in the United States Navy achieving the rank of E5. As part of this service, he learned to be an electronics technician which turned into his lifelong career. He was awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal and the American Spirit Honor Medal. After his military service was complete, he spent time in Alaska and then Italy where he met the love of his life, Midge. They then moved back to the States and had a brief stay in Louisiana before settling in Hudson, WI where he worked for the telephone company.

A passionate volunteer, Glenn spent countless hours at the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, WI, and at Hudson Memorial Hospital. His generous spirit also extended to his church community where he was an active member. Glenn volunteered his time at Moon Beach Camp in Saint Germain where he camped and served with friends and family. In his later years, Glenn and Midge moved to Oconomowoc, WI. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether by driving his friends to their destinations or fixing things around the community.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 59 years Midge; daughters Heather Wilson and Laurel (Todd) Kieffer; grandchildren Tyler and Caroline Wilson, and John (Amy) and Kathy Kieffer; brother Jim (Kathy); sister Linda (Rex) Hoover; along with many other family and friends.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents and brother Roger Kees.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Shorehaven Endowment Fund, Phipps Center for the Arts or Moon Beach Camp in Glenn’s name are appreciated.

A homecoming service to honor Glenn’s life will take place in the memorial garden on Thursday, June 12 from 1-3pm at the First Congregational Church, UCC in River Falls. An interment & service to follow on Thursday, June 26 from 1-3pm at First Congregational UCC, 815 S. Concord Rd.
