George Recknagel

George Julius Recknagel was born to George and Hulda in the town of Lafayette, WI. George spent his early years on the farm with his brother Wilbert. He enlisted in the army and proudly served his county in the Korean War. When he returned he married Justine, who would be his wife and cherished companion for 59 years. He earned his engineering degree and worked at Falk, having a variety of responsibilities over his 30 years of employment. George and Justine enjoyed traveling with their two children, Michael and Michele, seeing much of the country while pulling their trailer. He was resourceful and created many woodworking projects. He was a volunteer fireman for several years. George enjoyed watching his grandchildren, Breanne and Bryan, as they participated in various sporting activities. He was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying fishing, hunting and bird watching. He loved a good game of cards, bowling, dogs and a hot cup of coffee. His genuine smile will be missed by all.
