George F. Kautsky, age 91, of Milwaukee, lost his battle with pulmonary fibrosis on November 23, 2012, at Lake Country Health and Rehabilitation Center in Oconomowoc. George was born on March 6, 1921, in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He married Edith M. (nee Frank) on July 19, 1948, in Hanover, Germany. They had risked their lives to escape Communism and settled in the United States in 1952 so they and their children could live in freedom. He worked for many years as a mechanical engineer for P&H Harnischfeger and Ludell Manufacturing. George was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years. He is survived by son John Kautsky of Waukesha, daughter Suzanne (David) Weiss of Manitowoc, grandsons Erik Weiss of Chicago, Ill., Kevin (Michelle) Weiss of Peoria, Ill., sister Judy (Guillaume) Petry of Jeffersonville, N.Y., niece Elizabeth (Richard) Umhoefer and their children, Ricky and Erica, Staten Island, N.Y., special friend Ginny Hynes of New Berlin and her family along with other relatives and friends. Private services and cremation are taking place.
