Dwayne James Hanon, born on February 19, 1938, in West Allis, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, at Angels Grace Hospice. He was 86 years old and lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to the ministry given to him.
A man of God and faith, Dwayne was a beacon of hope, joy and compassion to all who knew him. He embraced his calling in ministry with unwavering dedication, guiding others with a heart full of love and understanding. Dwayne possessed a remarkable ability to make strangers feel welcome and comfortable. His generous spirit and great sense of humor were gifts that warmed the souls of family and friends. He will be profoundly missed.
Dwayne is survived by his wife Marita "Rita" Hanon; children Glenn E. Hanon (Lori), Deborah H. Salibi (Chuck); grandchildren Paul O. Hanon (Ryan), Robert F. Hanon (Jessica), Evan J. Salibi (Rachelle), Sam E. Salibi, Harrison S. Salibi and Elizabeth M. Salibi; great-grandchildren Clara J. Hanon, Marita J. Hanon, Elizabeth J. Hanon, Elaina J. Hanon, Bridget A. Hanon, Landry P.J. Hanon, Logan C. Salibi, Savannah G. Salibi, and Athena L. Salibi; along with many other loving family and friends.
Dwayne is preceded in death by his parents Silas and Maryon Hanon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Broom Tree Ministries (www.broomtreeministries.org), an organization that Dwayne was founder and called to create a respite for Pastor couples.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Froedtert Center for Advanced Care and Angels Grace Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during Dwayne’s final days.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Dwayne's life with a visitation taking place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 2:00pm. His memorial service will be at 3:00pm at Lakewood Baptist Church (W274N1490 Riverland Dr, Pewaukee, WI 53072). Dwayne will be laid to rest in a private burial at LaBelle Cemetery.
