DuWayne M. Schaenzer

Born, June 21, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, son of Anthony and Myrtle (Kvalheim) Schaenzer.

Married Nancy Lou Brooks on August 9, 1958, at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They just celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Graduate of Boys Technical High School and Marquette University with a Mechanical Engineering degree. He helped set up various systems at several companies with his technical skills and cost saving knowledge.

DuWayne was also a proud US Army Veteran. After his basic training he was sent to Okinawa and Korea. He also served in the Army Reserve for six years.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, daughter Gerri (Dave) Zambriski Sr and son DuWayne (Kim) Schaenzer Jr. Grandchildren Jill (Anthony) Weber Sr, David Zambriski JR., Hannah, Agnes, and DuWayne III Schaenzer. Great grandchildren, Tony and Jolee Weber and Allysyn Zambriski. Also his brother Robert Schaenzer, sister Gloriann (Ted) Gagliano, and brother-in-law, Jeff Bateman. DuWayne is further survived by many other family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

DuWayne especially loved fishing and golfing. Some of his nephews named him Uncle Cleo, as his favorite fishing lure was little Cleo’s. He also loved watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.

His love for his family came first and he loved getting together for any celebrations and loved teasing the young children. Family weddings were special to him as he loved to dance, especially when a polka was played.

DuWayne was preceded in death by his parents, son, Dean Anthony Schaenzer, granddaughter, Shelby Anne Casper, sisters Janice Bateman and Darlene Schaenzer, sister-in-law Mary Schaenzer and in-laws, Alvin and Evelyn Brooks.

Any memorials for DuWayne can be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church- Sugar Island (W3673 Cty Rd O, Watertown, WI 53098)

A visitation to celebrate DuWayne’s life will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (2228 N. Silver Maple Ln, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 9:00am-11:00am with a memorial service and military honors to follow.
