Dennis Edward Wamser

Dennis Edward Wamser, cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, at the age of 83. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Edwin and Vivian Wamser, he was the eldest of eight children. Dennis proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Intelligence specialist during the Vietnam Era, spending several years stationed in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska and Zweibrucken Germany. His military service instilled in him a love for travel, allowing him to explore various countries throughout Europe.

After his honorable service, Dennis met Mary Corcoran, the love of his life, and they built a wonderful family together. He is survived by his two children, Michael Wamser and Megan (Scott) Fuhr, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Brady, Melody, and Carson. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Megan Colbert and Heather Bouchard and their mother, Margaret Parker; siblings, Pat Wamser, Maureen Sprong, Eileen (David) Baldus, Bonnie Goralski, Barb Kinsland, Peggy Gedlen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wamser (nee Corcoran), parents, his brother, Terry, and sister-in-law Sandy Wamser.

Dennis was passionate about music and enjoyed playing the guitar, even performing with the local band "The Problems." He loved spending time outdoors, indulging in fishing, boating, and participating in shooting sports and target practice. Additionally, he found great joy in his visits to Door County. A proud member of the Okauchee Legion (Magnus Anderson American Legion Post 399), he held deep respect for his military service and his community.
