Debbie (Mary Deborah) Frisk, died Friday, May 15, 2026, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin after a long illness. She was 73.
Debbie was born in Denver, Colorado on October 7th, 1952. Her parents were Jack and Cam Frisk, her siblings Pam (deceased), John, Dave (Lisa), Jude (Rob) and Mogie. After high school, Debbie attended Carrol College in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she began her education in social work, counseling and mental health. She later achieved her master’s degree from UW – Madison. She spent the majority of her career at Oconomowoc Developmental Training Center (ODTC), from which she retired in 2017.
Debbie was passionate about caring for children and their families, and devoted her life and career to, along with her colleagues, developing group homes and treatment plans to help children live up to their highest potential.
Debbie was generous, passionate about music, arts and community. She served and volunteered in various capacities in her community and was truly committed to her family of friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Paul, her sister Pam, and her brother-in-law Louis. She is survived by her siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins, and her family and friends
Her family wishes to thank the wonderful medical teams who served Debbie, her neighbors who cared so well for her, and Angel, who was truly her angel.
A memorial will be held to honor Debbie on Thursday, July 2nd at the Pagenkopf Funeral Home (2228 N. Silver Maple Lane in Oconomowoc). Visitation will be from 3 to 4pm, with a memorial at 4pm.
