David Louis Sullivan, age 79, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1945, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to Ralph and Arlene (nee Herbst).
Dave proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to service and sacrifice. Following his military tenure, he devoted 29 years of his life to law enforcement as a Milwaukee Police Officer, earning respect and admiration for his dedication and kindness to the community he served.
In addition to his law enforcement career, Dave found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for gardening, hunting, and fishing, especially those moments spent with his son, Steve. Above all, Dave treasured the time spent with his loved ones, finding joy in the laughter and smiles of his grandchildren, family, and friends. His ability to uplift those around him with humor and warmth was truly a gift.
He is survived by his wife, Julayne Sullivan, with whom he shared 52 ½ years of marriage. Dave’s legacy continues through his children, Kimberly Wittmann and Steve (Kelly) Sullivan, and his cherished grandchildren, Ashley and Madison Wittmann, Landon and Parker Sullivan. He will also be deeply missed by his brother, Paul (Lynn) Sullivan, as well as extended family members and many friends who held him dear.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Rainbow Hospice and Watertown Health Care Center for their devoted care during Dave’s final days. Your compassion and kindness brought comfort during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital in Dave's memory.

Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066), with a service to immediately follow. During the service, military honors will be accorded to honor Dave's commitment to his country.
