Darin James Schultz

Darin James Schultz, age 48, of Dousman, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 5, 2026.

Born to Donna and Darryl Schultz, Darin was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, grandson, cousin, nephew, friend, teammate, skilled carpenter, and true outdoorsman. His passing leaves a void that words cannot fill and hearts that will never fully mend.

Darin found his greatest joy in God's creation. Whether he was golfing with friends, casting a line into a quiet lake or river, sitting patiently in his tree stand waiting for that trophy buck, searching for morel mushrooms and wild asparagus, or simply enjoying the peace of nature, he was happiest outdoors. Nature wasn't just a hobby. It was where his soul felt at home. His Tuesday night golf league, hunting buddies, and fishing partners will miss him dearly.

A talented and hardworking carpenter, Darin took pride in building with his hands and helping others. His quiet strength, unwavering work ethic, and willingness to lend a hand earned the respect of everyone who knew him.

Above all else, Darin treasured his family. He found immense joy in being a father to his beloved daughter, Tianah, sharing with her his love of the outdoors by teaching her about nature, catching bugs and frogs, fishing, and enjoying walks and bike rides together. He was also one of his nephew and godson Michael Funk's biggest supporters, taking tremendous pride in Michael's accomplishments in school and offroad truck racing. Whether it was a Sunday afternoon or a weeknight, Darin could often be found at home with his mom, cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers or watching golf.

Though his heart had grown weak, it never stopped loving. He may not have always been the loudest to express his feelings, but those closest to him never questioned the depth of his love. Darin will be remembered for his loving heart, hardworking hands, generous spirit, quiet kindness, and appreciation for life's simplest pleasures.

He is survived by his mother, Donna Schultz; his father, Darryl Schultz; his brother, Lee/Darryl (Julie) Schultz; his sister, Dione (Mike) Funk; his cherished nephew and godson, Michael Funk; his beloved daughter, Tianah Marie Rossey; grandpa Herman Schultz and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Lorraine Plese; his paternal grandmother, Talu Schultz; his Uncle Mike and Aunt Debbie Plese; his Uncle Bill and Aunt Trink Hansen; and his cousin, Michael Plese.

While we will never understand why his time with us was cut so short, we find comfort in imagining Heaven welcoming him home. Perhaps the Lord needed a gifted carpenter. Perhaps He needed one more for the perfect foursome on the heavenly golf course, a fishing partner to help feed His people, or someone to spend peaceful mornings in the woods. Whatever the reason, we know Darin has found the peace he so loved here on earth.

His absence will be felt every day, but his memory will live on in every sunrise through the trees, every cast into the water, every walk through the woods, every round of golf, and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

A visitation and funeral service celebrating Darin's life will be held on Friday, July 31, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Highway 18 & 67, Dousman, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. A reception will be held immediately afterward in the Parish Hall. Family and friends are then invited to continue celebrating Darin's life at the Dousman House, 128 N. Main Street, Dousman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Darin's memory to HAWS, Wildlife In Need, or to help support the care of his beloved daughter, Tianah.

Until we meet again, Darin. You will be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
