Emblem

Daniel James Malone, age 76, passed away on June 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Dan was known for his fun-loving spirit, boundless generosity, and deep devotion to his family and friends.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Diane, his children, Michael (Meggan) Malone and Ann (Eric) Rislove; and his cherished grandchildren, Maxx, Cole, Cooper, and Tatum Malone, and Luke, Ethan, and Alaina Rislove. He was a devoted brother to Kathleen Ruehlow, Janet (Forrest) Callahan, and Grace (Dana) Lenz; and a caring brother-in-law to Maryalice (Wayne) Rosenow and Dennis Michael Ridgewell. Dan also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends who were touched by his warmth and humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Clair Malone; his brother-in-law, Gerald Ruehlow; and sister-in-law, Peggy Ridgewell.

Born and raised in the Oconomowoc area, Dan was a proud graduate of Oconomowoc High School. Soon after, he married his high school sweetheart, Diane, and honorably served his Country in the U.S. Army in South Vietnam from 1969 to 1971.

Following his service, Dan returned home and balanced multiple jobs while earning his business degree from Waukesha County Technical College. His hard work and determination led him to become the proud owner of Hoffmann Cleaning Service, until his retirement in 2006.

Those who knew Dan will remember his quick wit, generous heart, and love for life. He had a special passion for his cars, yard, orchard, garden, barn, and his loyal dogs. Above all, he took immense pride in his children and grandchildren – nothing made him happier than spending time with them.

In his final wishes, Dan asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support VFW Post 2260 and their ongoing project to aid local veterans and the community.
