Cristine Lynn McDonnell, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on July 29th, 2025. Cris was born in Burlington, IA on January 7, 1950 to Kenneth and Betty Mason.
Cris graduated from Aquinas High School in 1968, then went on to attend Southeastern Community College. After college, she started her career at First Miss Corp. in Ft. Madison. Shortly after, the local office was closing so she took a big leap of faith as a single mom, and relocated to Denver, CO to work at the sister company, First Miss Gold. Years later, the company switched hands again, so she & Kelley (daughter) moved to Reno, NV where she became the Director of Human Resources for Getchell Gold. She ended her career, retiring early, from what was then Kinross Gold. After retiring, she volunteered and was later employed by the Nevada Museum of Art, until relocating to Oconomowoc, WI to be closer to Kelley, Bob and her grandkids, Mia & Mason.
Cris is survived by her daughter, Kelley (Bob) Fiore; sisters Sandy (John) Owen, Dianne (Scott) Pickford, Paula (George) Davey; and her grandchildren Mia and Mason Fiore. She was preceded in death by her parents and two nephews, Jeremy and Tony Owen.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dimensions Living (Azura) for their amazing care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be set up for the MPS Society in Cris’s name.
A private service with family will be held later.
