Consuelo Mendoza, 98, July 31, 2026, was born July 12, 1928, in Mexico. Daughter of Jose-Maria Mendoza and Maria de Jesus Vasquez.
Consuelo is survived by her 7 Covarrubias children Juan (Socorro), Antonio (Consuelo), Onofre (Ton̄a), Grace (Jim Fakler), Linda (Thomas Perez), Javier (Gabriela), Maria (Gabriel Cevilla); 34 Grandchildren, 56 Great-Grandchildren, 5 Great Great-Grandchildren, many nieces, many nephews, 3 half-sisters Jovita, Sara, Esther, and other family members.
Consuelo is preceded in death by her husband Jose, her loving parents Jose-Maria Mendoza and Maria de Jesus Vasquez, daughters Dolores (son-in-law Gonzalo Flores), Josefina (son-in-law Rafael Castillo), and young children Jose, Guilermo, and Patricia.
Consuelo was the proud daughter of a long lineage of talented cooks and demonstrated her culinary skills in the kitchen, preparing meals that brought her family together and forged fond memories of laughter and joy. She was a dedicated homemaker, nurturing her family with not just food but also love, embodying the essence of care and commitment to her children.
A true lover of nature, Consuelo found solace in her garden, where her passion for cultivating vibrant yellow flowers flourished. She also held a special fondness for farm animals, sharing her appreciation for life’s simple joys with those around her. Consuelo was the youngest of seven sisters, all of whom shared her gift for cooking and the cherished tradition of family gatherings.
The family wishes to extend their heart felt gratitude to the Aurora Home Hospice for the kind and unwavering support and compassion during this difficult time.
A service will take place August 10, 2026, at Holy Hill Basilica at St. Thérése Chapel, located on the second floor (1525 Carmel Rd, Hubertus, WI 53033). Visitation is from 10:00am – 12:00pm, followed by the celebration of life Mass at 12:00pm.
Her legacy of love, strength, and dedication to God will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Forever cherished, Consuelo Mendoza will be profoundly missed.
