Colleen Grace Schnur (neé Marsh)

With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Colleen Grace Schnur. She died peacefully at home in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, on July 20, 2025, at the age of 92. She lived a long and full life rooted in love, family, resilience, and deep care for those around her.

Born in Seymour, Wisconsin in April 1933, she grew up a strong farm girl. Always willing to do whatever it took, she enjoyed helping her dad with barn tasks and could carry 2 steel milk jugs at a time. She graduated from Seymour High School followed by Outagamie County Teachers College, and started teaching country school (K-8 in one room) when she was 19. She went on to earn her bachelors degree from UW-Platteville while continuing to teach, and later moved to teaching 6th grade in Black Creek, Appleton, and Seymour. She left teaching to raise her children, and then worked as a chair side dental assistant, and at the local hardware store for several years until retirement.

Colleen was the beloved wife of Lorence Schnur. They were married in August of 1961 and shared over 63 years of life together—years filled with devotion, laughter, and the enduring bond of love. She is also survived by her children John (Tammy), Janine, and Jennifer, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was known for her kind heart, infectious smile, gentle spirit, willingness to help, and touched the lives of all who knew her. Colleen found joy in her home and family, gardening, genealogy research, traveling, and music. She will be remembered for her steady grace and quiet strength, and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and deep family values. She will be missed dearly and remembered always.

All who knew Colleen are welcome to celebrate her life by attending her memorial service on August 2, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2-4pm, with funeral service at 4pm. Burial will take place on Monday August 4 at 1:00pm at St Luke's Norwegian Cemetery

We are thankful for the care and persistence from the ER doctors & staff at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, the Western Lakes EMT staff, and our palliative & hospice care teams from ProHealth. Special thank you to all of our family, friends, and caregivers who helped us manage and navigate the roller coaster of dementia.
