Clyde Raymond Schweitzer, age 87, passed away on April 24, 2025. Clyde was born on August 7, 1937, in Muskego, Wisconsin to Casper and Collette Schweitzer.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Mary (nee Jochman), and sons Eric (Coralie) Schweitzer and Ryan Schweitzer. He was a proud grandfather to Mica Angelo and Silas Casper. Clyde also leaves behind his brother Clifford Schweitzer, sisters Charlene Foellings and Connie (Brian) Boland, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Clyde was preceded in death by his daughter Angela, parents, brother Charles Schweitzer, sister-in-law Judith Schweitzer (nee Grothem), and brother-in-law Carl Foellings.
Clyde grew up on a dairy farm surrounded by a loving family. He graduated from Spencerian College in 1959 and shortly thereafter began his career at Employers Mutual Casualty Company in Brookfield, where he worked for 42 years until retiring in 2003.
In 1968, during a skiing trip in northern Wisconsin Clyde met the love of his life Marge. They were married in 1969 and gave birth to their first child, Angela, in 1971. Clyde loved the outdoors and, as a result, family vacations often involved snow skiing trips “up north” or “out west” to the Rocky Mountains while summers were dedicated to maximizing time on the lakes of Wisconsin. There Clyde enjoyed swimming, sailing, and water skiing with his family and friends. Clyde was devoted to his profession and appreciated the flexibility which allowed him to enjoy an occasional round of golf. Clyde enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to make many trips to Europe with his wife and various groups of friends. Upon retirement Clyde enjoyed volunteering and cherished the weekly meetings with his ski and bike groups as well as his bible study.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the community of friends and family for their support as well as the care provided by Towner Crest and St Croix Hospice in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Lake Country Caring, MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary of Milwaukee, or a charity of your choice in Clyde’s name.
Visitation will take place at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (2228 N Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI) on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 1-3pm followed by a service at 3pm. The family invites you to join them to eat, drink, and celebrate Clyde’s life at a reception following the service.
