Charlotte A. McMahon

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlotte A. McMahon (nee Solveson), a beloved sister and friend, who departed this world on May 25, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born in Oconomowoc, WI on November 10, 1943, the loving daughter of Carl and Adeline Solveson.

Charlotte graduated from Oconomowoc High School and began her career by working at The Tastee-Freeze, before spending an impressive 39 years as an expeditor at Husco International, where her work ethic and cheerful disposition left a lasting impact on her colleagues. Charlotte was also co-owner of Solvey’s Trophies and Stuff and enjoyed working alongside her brother, Steve.

Charlotte and her husband Chuck enjoyed traveling by car across the United States and bowling in a co-ed league in Okauchee. Charlotte traveled to Israel to help her sister-in-law, Patricia, paint a mural at a Christian Cemetery in Jerusalem.

A lifelong resident of Oconomowoc, Charlotte was an active and cherished member of Dr. Martin Luther Church. Her sweet voice filled the church as she participated in various choirs, while also taking the lead on the kitchen committee and serving meals at St. Ben’s homeless shelter. Charlotte enjoyed her time golfing in a women’s league at St. John’s. She showed unwavering commitment to her community as a past member of the Oconomowoc Community Choir and as a volunteer for Watertown Ducks Unlimited. As a member of the Watertown Women of Moose Lodge, Charlotte formed many delightful friendships that enriched her life.

Beyond her generous heart, Charlotte found joy in gardening, engaging in word puzzles, watching golf and supporting her beloved teams, the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Dockhounds.

Her family and friends knew her as a loving, caring, and humble woman who was always there for others.

Charlotte is survived by her brother Steven Solveson, nephews: Mike (Linda) Kurschner, Jimmy Kurschner and Sean (Julie) Solveson; nieces Holly Solveson (Patrick) Snyder and Shari Solveson (Brian) Sheehan; step-daughters: Theresa, Lynn & Sheila; sister-in-law Patricia Solveson Barrett, along with many great nieces and nephews and four Bergman cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles (Red) McMahon; her parents Carl A. and Adeline B. Solveson, brother Carl Solveson, sister Ann Kurschner and nephew Norman Kurschner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family are welcome and appreciated.
