Bonnie Troyer, 87, of Dousman, crossed into the loving embrace of God the Father in Heaven on September 18, 2026.
The word mom best describes Bonnie, but she was a mom to so many, not just her nine children. She played the role of mother to her younger siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews, and a few lost kids who needed a loving home. She radiated that warmth from a rare place in her heart. Bonnie had a unique repertoire of sayings, such as, “you do what you gotta do” or “life is easy when you do the right thing” or “there’s always time for manners.” Her overwhelming sense of justice, and her love for the Holy Catholic Church helped Bonnie to overcome a tumultuous upbringing and lovingly raise nine children. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church, and her faith was unwavering.
Bonnie built lifetime friendships from her days at Olympia Resort. Then she started her own bakery (Bonnies Baked Specialties), creating exquisite desserts. Bonnie had an artist's soul that expressed itself through her elaborate yet elegant wedding cakes. Her baking earned the nickname “Grandma Cookie”. Her presence will carry on through her recipes, which she has passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Roger Troyer I of Dousman, WI; children, Dawn Pinkerton (Cole) of Bullhead City, AZ, Julie Knudsen (Creig) of Sacramento, CA, Roger Troyer II (Sherry) of Mukwonago, WI, Lori Troyer (Curt Laabs) of Palmyra, WI, Angel Troyer of Oconomowoc, WI, Dee Dee Agathen (Joe) of Oconomowoc, WI, Korey Troyer of Marietta, GA and Ross Troyer (Marci) of Waukesha, WI, eighteen grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her youngest child, Todd Troyer.
We will gather to remember her on Thursday, September 24, at 12:00, with service at 2:00 at Saint Jerome’s Catholic Church in Oconomowoc (995 S Silver Lake St, Oconomowoc, WI 53066).
