Bonnie Jean Schweighardt

April 20, 1946 — October 29, 2025

Bonnie Jean Schweighardt

Age 79

Passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025 Bonnie was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on April 20, 1946 to Roland and Hertha Voss.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband Oscar. She will be missed by her brother Ronald (Christine) Voss. Also left to cherish her memory are her brother-in-law Stephan (Debbie) Schweighardt, sister-in-law Dr. Marianne (William Daly) Schweighardt, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends and neighbors. She will also be missed by her feline friend Miss Kitty who would follow her wherever she went.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister and brother-in-law Marilyn (Dave) Guthrie.

Bonnie graduated from Mukwanago High School. She worked as a payroll clerk for Grede Foundries in Waukesha until their closing. She then worked at Schweighardt Chiropractic Office in Brookfield until she retired.

One day, while working at Grede Foundries , Bonnie was standing near the Time Clock when she was approached by Oscar. He had started working there recently and quickly noticed how pretty she was. Because his mother worked there also, Oscar found out that her name was Bonnie. Oscar walked up to Bonnie and asked her if she would consider going out with him. Bonnie replied “Why don’t you ask me?” Thus began a 56 year friendship. They were married on June 13, 1970. They celebrated their 55 Anniversary this past June.

After retirement, Bonnie enjoyed working with her husband on their hobby farm where she had fun running farm equipment. There wasn’t a power tool she couldn’t operate. The only thing that frightened her about working with their honey bees was Oscar! She liked building wood projects, and she loved cooking and canning from her large garden.

She looked forward to spending time at their small camping ground at Lake Camelot as much as she enjoyed watching the wonderful wildlife from her kitchen window at their house.

We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Aurora Summit, as well as the caring staff at AngelsGrace Hospice.
