In Loving Memory of Blake R. LaBarbera October 8, 1963 – April 14, 2025

With aching hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Blake R. LaBarbera, who left this world on April 14, 2025, at the age of 61. His journey on this earth was marked by quiet strength, gentle kindness, and a spirit as rich and layered as it was loving.

Born in Milwaukee Wisconsin, to John and Sandra LaBarbera, Blake was the youngest son and middle child —a thoughtful, tender soul with a fierce devotion to animals, a deep reverence for holistic wellness, and an abiding compassion for all living things. His closest companion, his cherished cat Yoda(2010-2025), passed alongside him, a final act of togetherness that speaks to the bond they shared.

Blake was a man of many passions. He found joy in learning and problem solving. He took pride in his work as a mechanic, and loved tinkering with engines as much as he loved nurturing others. He was intelligent, quietly funny, fiercely loyal, and endlessly generous. His presence was steady and comforting—a source of strength to his family, his friends, and to those who never even realized how deeply he had touched their lives from afar.

He spent years selflessly caring for his grandmother Helen and mother Sandy, and being the best brother and brother in law ever as a testament to the depth of his love and sense of duty. Later, he brought his expertise to a Menomonee Falls auto repair shop and continued to help friends, neighbors, and family with their repairs, always with a kind word and a ready hand. Earning his ASE certification in brake repair shortly before his passing was a proud moment—one of many quiet achievements that marked his life.

Blake is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Sandy and John, his brother Tony, and his treasured cat Yoda. He is survived by his sister Karen (Dave) Schmid, niece Katie (Justin), and great-niece and nephews Alessi, Crew, and Oliver Kutella—each of whom carry his love in their hearts. He also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family, all of whom will miss him more deeply than words could ever say.

A celebration of life will be held in the future. Until then, we hold him close in memory and spirit. In lieu of flowers, we encourage everyone to do something nice for someone in need or, if you wish, memorials to the family may be sent to the funeral home to be given to the family.

As Blake signed every email, in his gentle and sincere way: “Be well.”
