Alexander James Knebel, 36, of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, beloved son of Jamie (Meintz) Stache and the late Gary Knebel, and proud father of Kennedy and Reagan, passed away unexpectedly.
Alex was a devoted brother to Keri (Andy) Jackson, Katie (Michael) Ouding, Kate (Casey) Dodge, Sam Stache, and Ben Stache, and a cherished uncle to Blessing, Grace, Victoria, Brady, Evangeline, Drew, Harrison, and Hayes. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandmother, Virginia Meintz, as well as Tom Schrader, Jeff Stache, and Cathy Schroeder, all of whom held special places in his life and cared deeply for him. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Knebel; nephew, Christian Ouding; grandparents, Clifford Meintz, Jerome and Virginia Knebel; uncles, Alan and Don Knebel; and aunt, Lynette Meintz.
Alex was an avid fan of all things Wisconsin, he cheered passionately for the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Wisconsin Badgers. Growing up, he loved playing sports and staying active, especially during his years at St. Paul’s Lutheran School and Lake Country Lutheran High School. He got the first hit in LCL Baseball history. He was known for his strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and fun-loving, carefree spirit that brought joy to everyone around him. Alex loved his daughters deeply, they were the brightest part of his life and the source of his greatest pride and joy.
Alex loved God and lived as a proud Christian. His faith, kindness, and laughter will be remembered always by those who knew and loved him. He is now at peace in the arms of his Heavenly Father.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2nd, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, followed by a service at 4:00 PM and a light meal to follow.
In honor of Alex, guests are invited to wear Wisconsin sports gear, camouflage, or anything that makes them feel comfortable. Alex always felt safe and welcomed at St. Paul’s, and he would want everyone to come just as they are, surrounded by love and community.
