On Sunday, April 15, 2018, the Lord called Rita (Trepes) Burdick home, surrounded by her family. Rita was born on March 6, 1933 in Kendall, WI, but spent most of her life in Mauston WI. She started out her young adult life as a school teacher before marrying Wayne Burdick on June 21,1955. Wayne & Rita were married 58 years & together, they raised 6 children. They enjoyed square dancing, gardening, horses & attending auctions. Most of all, they enjoyed spending time with their family & friends. Some of her passions were cake decorating, crafting, berry picking & mushroom hunting. In 2012, Wayne & Rita moved to Dousman, WI. Wayne went home to be with the Lord Feb. 1, 2013. Rita then moved to The Three Pillars Senior Living Community in Dousman, where she made many new friends. She enjoyed the knitting group, coffee hour and attending The Four Guyz in Dinner Jackets concerts. Rita is survived by her children Richard (Debbie) Burdick, Robert (Donna) Burdick, JoAnn (Joe) Finn, Joyce (Paul) Joswick, Jeffrey (Rachelle) Burdick, and Jean (Jim) Babcock., in addition to 15 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by husband Wayne, sisters Mary Gernetzke, Dorothy Betthauser & brother Bernard Trepes. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 21 at St. Patrick's Church in Mauston from 9:00-10:30. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 with burial following at St. Patrick's cemetery. The family would like to thank The Three Pillars Senior Living Community & Angels Grace Hospice for all their love, support & passionate care. A very special thank you to Dr. Elangovan & the staff at DaVita Dialysis. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to The Three Pillars Senior Living Community or Angels Grace Hospice. We will forever remember Mom's famous words: 'Ohhhh you kids!'
