Jeannette Johns, 92, of the Village of Summit passed away peacefully at her home on the farm on Friday, January 29, 2016. Jeannette was born to Leona Rose (Rhadans) and Joseph Will Perkins on September 19, 1923. She was a graduate of Oconomowoc High School. On May 28, 1944, she married Harvey Johns at Dr Martin Luther Church in Oconomowoc. Jeannette and Harvey raised their six children on the family farm in the Village of Summit. To many in the area, they were known for their sweet corn stand located along Sawyer Road with the Folgers coffee can for customers to deposit their payment. Jeannette was an avid reader and enjoyed attending many book clubs in the area. Her primary focus was helping out on the farm while raising her children. She is survived by her children: Judy (the late Ken) Rhodee, Jay (Jeanne), Marc all of the Oconomowoc area, Darcy (the late Jack) Hunter of Casper, Wyoming, Dixie (Artie) Wachter of Eloy, Arizona, and Philip (Jill Herro) of Silver Lake, Ohio. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Ryan (Jan) Rhodee, Mindy (Jason) Voelker, Adam (Heidi) Rhodee, Emily (Josh) Russart, Melanie (Richard) Shutts, Leigh Hunter, Brian (Melissa) Hunter, Jill Johns, Jessica (Tim) Tio, Jordan Johns, Maddie Johns, Jennica (Chris) Gill and Patrick Johns. In addition to her grandchildren, there are 19 great grandchildren. A sister-in-law, Carol Perkins, as well as nieces and nephews also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harvey, in 2010 and her brother, Robert Perkins. Funeral services for Jeannette will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 12:00 PM with a visitation for family and friends starting at 10:00 AM all taking place at Pagenkopf Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Summit Cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation to Melanie, Deb, Cheryl, Terri, and Ashley, who were Jeannette's faithful and loving caregivers during her last years.
