Irene Damrow

Irene A. Damrow, 90, of Oconomowoc passed away peacefully September 14, 2014. She was born on November 6, 1923 to the late Frank and Emma (Uttech) Wille in the town of Lebanon. She married William Damrow at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Watertown on November 3, 1945. Irene is survived by her children, Susan (friend Erwin Bukin), Cynthia (Richard) Wittnebel and Lester (Gail) Damrow. She is further survived by 6 grandchildren: Brad, Eric and Darin (friend Lauren Oliveri) Wittnebel, Sara (Boyd) Rasmussen, Kyle (Megan) Damrow and Marc Damrow; 6 great-grandchildren: Luke, Emma, Micah and Asher Rasmussen and Trezdon and Marshall Damrow. She is further survived by her sister Elsa Doman, brother Reinhard Wille, sister-in-law Dolores Damrow and many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her husband William, grandson Aaron Damrow, brother Theodore Wille, and sister Esther Orhmundt. Irene worked as a seamstress at Glen Mfg. Co. in Watertown for 7 years after which she farmed with her husband in the town of Ashippun for 26 years. Later she was employed as a Molder at Lewis Systems, Menasha Corp, in Watertown for 13 years. In her spare time she enjoyed weaving rag rugs, doing ceramics, crocheting and sewing. After her retirement she joined the Watertown Senior center, Ashippun Forever Young Club and the Stone Bank Seniors where she enjoyed playing cards and bingo. The visitation for Irene will be held on Wednesday, September 17, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm with the service to follow at St. John's Lutheran Church-Ashippun, N1245 St. John's Way, Oconomowoc. If desired, memorial in Irene's name may be made to St. John's Building Fund.
