Ione H. Otto

Ione Otto, age 92 of Oconomowoc, ended life's journey on Friday, August 15, 2014. Ione is survived by her loving sons Bill Otto (Sandy) of St. Augustine, FL and Randy Otto (Katie) of Lake Mills, WI, grandchildren Sara Janssen (Tom) of St. Paul, MN, Rebecca Rhodee of Oconomowoc, WI, Max Otto and Christian (CJ) Otto of Lake Mills, WI and loving 'Grandma GiGi' to Lila, Griffin and Daisy. She is further survived by Mary Otto, Sarah Reinhard, Lisa Williams (Eddie) along with many friends and associates she has met along life's path. Ione is preceded in death by her husband Albin 'Billy Pop' Otto and her brother LaVerne (Butch) Reinhard. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Ione will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM, with a visitation for family and friends beginning at 9:00 AM all to take place at St. Bruno's Catholic Church in Dousman, WI. Ione was born in Reeseville, WI and lost her mother as a teenager. She answered her country's call as a 'Rosie Riveter' during WWII. She met her late husband Bill Otto at a Milwaukee Brewers game and later began waitressing at Skow's on 27th and National. She then moved onto MATC's kitchen in 1963 where she retired as a supervisor of the 6th floor cafeteria in 1993. Ione traveled the world with her dear friend Joan Pelegrin who is now deceased. In lieu of flowers, donations to GiGi's Playhouse/Twin Cities, MN in Ione's memory, are preferred. Ione's great granddaughter, Daisy, has Down syndrome, and Ione was an enthusiastic supporter of this organization.
